Dr. Nick Schumacher is a physical therapist and fitness coach. Nick graduated from Boston University as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. In 2017, Nick completed the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, where he received further training in the management of musculoskeletal injuries. He achieved Board Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) in 2018. In 2021, Nick furthered his sports-specific training by completing the Kaiser Permanente Sports & Manual Therapy Fellowship in Los Angeles and achieving Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) in 2022. In addition to his physical therapy training, Nick earned certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in 2014.
Nick has a particular interest working with tactical athletes (military, fire, and police), runners, weight lifters, and any other athletes, as well as patients suffering post-concussion syndrome. He is actively engaged in running-related research and has helped develop protocols for return-to-sport following concussion and return-to-duty readiness (in collaboration with the US Army). Nick also works with O2X Human Performance, where he travels the country leading injury-prevention workshops at military bases and firehouses.
Dan was raised in Upstate New York. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Masters in Electrical Engineering. In addition to working on RehabKit/RehabPal, Dan has been working in the semiconductor industry for more than 36 years and is currently a technical director at a leading electrical-design automation company. His extensive coding background (and the fact that he is Nick’s father) makes Dan an asset to the development team. Dan enjoys photography and souping up his Jeep Wrangler.
Taza has worked as a designer, developer, and manager on website, mobile app, and big data projects for all business types and sizes – from mom and pop retailers to Fortune 10 financial companies. He met Nick during their time at Boston University and they’ve remained good friends ever since. Hailing from Martha’s Vineyard, Taza plays most sports and enjoys a good beach day.
Dr. Chris Parrott received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Central Florida where he worked as a personal trainer and small group instructor. Before starting his DPT, Chris graduated with his B.S. in Exercise Science and became a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) through ACSM. He worked full-time as a personal trainer before his passion for injury prevention and rehabilitation led him to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Chris has several specialty certifications including performance enhancement and exercise is medicine credentialing. Most recently he completed a comprehensive 8-course post-graduate certification in clinical excellence through the esteemed Institute of Clinical Excellence. Chris has worked with a wide range of clientele ranging from collegiate athletes and active duty military to weight loss clients and older adults. Over the past 2 years, Chris has primarily worked with active duty military from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida as well as other active individuals with a specialty in barbell athletes.
Dr. Kathleen Palmer received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Central Florida where she also worked as a personal trainer, TRX trainer and spinning instructor. After completing her DPT Kathleen presented her plan for integrating the industries of health and fitness and was awarded the NASM Pursuit of Excellence award in 2016 which granted her a full scholarship to obtain her M.S. in Exercise Science through the California University of Pennsylvania.
Kathleen has several specialty certifications including performance enhancement and has worked with a wide range of clientele from Olympic athletes to general fitness and older adults. She received her board certification as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) in 2020. Her passion resonates with healthy aging and prevention, no matter what age. In her spare time, Kathleen loves going to the beach, biking, and scrolling through Instagram for puppy videos!
