Frequently asked questions
What is RehabKit?
RehabKit is an app for physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other rehabilitation professionals. It combines exercise timers, range-of-motion and video movement-analysis tools, clinical calculators, journal feeds, and clinical practice guidelines in one app.
What are the main areas of the app?
The home screen has five areas: Timing Tools, Measurement Tools, Calculators, RSS Feeds, and Resources. See Getting Started in the User Guide.
How do I run a whole session without switching timers?
Build a Playlist: chain Tempo, Tabata, Metronome, EMOM, and Timer steps into one program, such as a home exercise program or treatment sequence, that runs with a single tap. Group steps into circuits, and attach a video or photo demonstration to any step. See Playlist in the User Guide.
How do I share a Playlist with a colleague?
Send it by AirDrop or the Share button (including any videos and photos), or show a QR code for them to scan. QR codes carry steps and timing but not videos or photos. Fit-Kit users can open RehabKit playlists too.
How accurate are the measurement tools?
The Inclinometer and Rotation tools use your device’s motion sensors, and Motion Analysis uses automated landmark tracking on 2D video. Results depend on device placement, landmark selection, patient position, lighting, and camera alignment, so standardize your technique as you would with a goniometer or bubble inclinometer and treat video-derived angles as relative values. They support your clinical judgment and are not a substitute for validated measurement methods. See the Medical Disclaimer.
Are the guideline summaries written by clinicians?
No. Each clinical practice guideline has a paired three-page summary that is generated with AI and rendered into a PDF before it ships in the app. Summaries are a quick orientation and can contain errors or omissions, so open the full guideline before applying a recommendation.
Where do the article summaries come from?
On supported devices, RehabKit generates article summaries on your device using Apple’s on-device AI, so article text isn’t sent to us. They can contain errors; read the article before applying findings. You can turn automatic summaries off in Settings.
Does RehabKit sync my playlists across my iPhone and iPad?
Yes, if you turn on Playlist Sync in Settings. Playlists sync through your own private iCloud storage across RehabKit and Fit-Kit on devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Turn on Sync Videos & Photos if you also want exercise videos and photos to sync. Turning sync off never deletes your playlists.
Is RehabKit a medical device?
No. RehabKit is a clinical support and reference tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe, and it does not replace the judgment of a qualified healthcare provider. See our Medical Disclaimer.
Is RehabKit HIPAA compliant?
RehabKit is designed to minimize collection of personal information: it does not require an account and does not collect patient names or contacts. However, it is not offered as a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record or protected health information system, and we do not enter into Business Associate Agreements. Do not put patient names, record numbers, diagnoses, or other protected health information into playlist names, notes, videos, photos, or shared content if your use requires HIPAA-regulated handling.
Is there a free trial, or do I need to subscribe?
RehabKit includes a free trial period. After that, continued use requires a monthly, annual, or lifetime purchase, billed through your Apple Account. See Subscriptions in the User Guide.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open Settings in RehabKit and tap Restore Purchases, using the same Apple Account as the original purchase. This needs an internet connection.
Something isn’t working right.
- No sound? Check the volume in Settings and on your device.
- Measurements look off? Hold the phone firmly against the segment, keep it flat for rotation, and recapture the zero position.
See the full Troubleshooting checklist in the User Guide.
Privacy
RehabKit needs no account, and your playlists, measurements, and recorded videos stay on your device unless you share or sync them. Push notifications are delivered through OneSignal and subscription purchases are validated through RevenueCat. See our Privacy Policy for details.
